Now, platforms like Canva offer users more options than ever before when it comes to designing quality documents. Whether that’s your business card, your CV or your cover letter. With easy functionality and more options built to give you flexibility, in 20 minutes you can make sure your documents are dressed to impress.

Now you can feel sure that your documents look good but just in case you have questions about what to include, there are endless YouTube videos to guide you along the ways. Now that you’re ready to get stuck in, here’s a few tips to get started.

Firstly, standing out doesn’t have to mean an over the top design. Something as simple as your use of colour can make an impact. Secondly, always personalise. Say you’re applying for an admin role, make sure your tech skills are front and center or if you’re applying for a retail position make sure you mention your communication skills in the cover letter, simple. Thirdly don’t forget to send a thank you email should you get to the interview stage. It’s a great way to show your interest and make a lasting impression.

Better yet these platforms offer practical tips and mock questions to help you prepare for your big interview.

All of these resources are geared to help you be at the top of your game. So, instead of asking your housemate to quickly quiz you, you’ll be guaranteed a more comprehensive process. After all, the saying goes: fail to prepare, prepare to fail!
